Here's a couple deb packages I've build with Squeezeplay 7.8.0~9704. It's working on my Ubuntu 12.10 (64-bit) with alsa audio, no changes are needed; should work for other versions too. It also installs the icon and .desktop file so you can just run it from Unity. Let me know how it works for you!
