Playing Linux music over SAMBA on Win 7 machine

I am trying to play music through my Win 7 HTPC over SAMBA from my Ubuntu 12.04 computer. I know the music will play on the WIN 7 computer through SAMBA in XMBC but I am having problems with LMS. I installed the latest stable versions of LMS and Squeezeplay to my Win 7 HTPC and in control panel identified the directories for music and playlists( SAMBA file Library (FLAC and Playlists) from my Ubuntu computer. The Win & computer then scanned my directories finding all 21000 or so tracks. When I try to play music in Squeezeplay the albums are selectable from the LMS server web page but the individual songs in the album do not appear. If I select play for an album a song comes up but will not play.
I have LMS 7.7.2 installed on both Ubuntu and Win 7 computers. This is a bit of an experiment to see if it will work as I can always play music on XBMC on the WIN 7 PC I just prefer to use LMS and Squeezeplay. I do not think it would be a permissions issue as the music plays on XBMC. One thing I notice is that the LMS Control Panel has a message saying "You do not have permission/privileges to start/stop LMS server background server". There are further instructions on running the program as administrator but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. if I right click on the LMS control panel it indicated that LMS starts automatically at start up.
