A deb would mean that it could easily be deployed onto (say) a raspbmc image
(with is based on Debian) giving a dual purpose to the RasPi from a single
SD card image.

Even if it is only one file, a .deb lists dependencies and the like, so a
simple 'apt-get -f install squeezelite' would automatically pull in all the
required flac and mp3 libraries, meaning the end user has to do next to
nothing.

Worth considering if you can.
